Greentrade operates a comprehensive agricultural commodity supply chain logistics services, supplying to processors across Nigeria. By partnering with local farmers through the Greentrade agent networks, we obtain and supply high-quality crops that meet the specific requirements of processors.
Greentrade acts as an intermediary, connecting these farmers with manufacturers seeking raw materials for their products, ensuring fair trade practices and transparent transactions which foster a mutually beneficial relationship between farmers and manufacturers.
The entire process reflects Greentrade's commitment to promoting sustainability, supporting local farmers, and providing manufacturers with responsibly sourced agricultural inputs.
Our Grain Storage business plays a key part in Greentrade’s agricultural commodities supply chain activities, and it plays a pivotal role in boosting food security through efficient supply chains across Nigeria.
With strategically located storage facilities spread across the country, Greentrade has established robust infrastructure to store and preserve agricultural commodities in state-of-the-art facilities equipped with modern technology to maintain optimal temperature, humidity, and ventilation, preserving the quality of the stored goods.
Greentrade collaborates with farmers, cooperatives, and agribusinesses, offering secure and reliable storage solutions, reducing post-harvest losses and ensuring a steady supply of commodities to meet market demands. The strategic placement of these storage facilities facilitates easy access for both rural and urban areas, aimed at contributing to the overall economic development of the agricultural sector in Nigeria.
Greentrade is in the process of configuring its warehouse in Alomaja, Ibadan to include crop drying facilities. The intention is to elevate its operational efficiency by incorporating drying equipment into our extensive network of storage facilities.
We recognize one of the key missing links in Nigeria’s agricultural sector value chain is small holder farmers ability to efficiently dry and store their crops. These farmers who make up over 90% of the harvested crops in the market tend to use traditional methods of drying, which leaves their crops at the mercy of natural elements.
Crops such as maize and soya which are harvested during the raining seasons are left out to dry during periods of intense rainfall, leading to uncertain and delayed supply's to the market.
By installing cutting-edge drying technology at key storage locations, Greentrade seeks to address challenges related to excess moisture that can lead to spoilage and degradation of produce. This initiative not only ensures the integrity of stored commodities but also extends the shelf life of products, thereby maximizing their market value.
Increase the access of small-scale industrial and other enterprises, in particular in developing countries, to financial services, including affordable credit, and their integration into value chains and markets.
Adopt measures to ensure the proper functioning of food commodity markets and their derivatives and facilitate timely access to market information, including on food reserves, in order to help limit extreme food price volatility.
Significantly increase the exports of developing countries, in particular with a view to doubling the least developed countries’ share of global exports.
